Blogging WoW has been so much fun (albeit super dorky) that I have decided to start another WoW blog aimed at my Druid urges. I wanted to keep this seperate because it will not only follow the development of a char, similar to NElf chicks, but will also contrast my experiences between my two druids. Xyln is my NElf chick feral druid on Anub'Arak and Grufft is my Tauren male no-spec-as-of-yet druid on Stormrage.
Xyln was created on a break from my first true character, a NElf chick hunter named Lÿnn. I was around level 45 and had just acquired prowl for my cat pet. It made me very jealous that my cat could stealth and I couldn't. Of course I had Shadowmeld, the NElf racial, which I loved but stealthing and standing in one place results in zero fun. I decided right there, the beach North of Theramore, that I wanted to have stealth. I could choose rogue or druid and ultimately decided on druid because they had healing capacity. Xyln went straight to level 70 with almost no interruptions. When it came time to start taking talents at level 10, there was no doubt which way to go: feral. I focused on DPS rather than tanking because it's honestly more fun in my opinion. I kept a back up gear set that focused on defense, stam and agi but I always chose DPS drops over tanking drops.
Grufft has come along at level 52 of my new hunter on Stormrage. I don't think he will yet amount to a true break, but more of a diversion here and there. He's currently level 7, which I just completed this morning. My plan is that he end up either Balance or Resto spec'd. In the beginning, if I can resist the urge to spec feral, he will be balance to allow easier advancement. The idea of having a boomkin or resto-tree is kinda funny. I look forward to utilizing a side of druid that I almost completely ignored with Xyln. I'll have a whole new appreciation for Entangling Roots and I bet I'll even cast Star-whatever on a mob instead of critters in Darnassus. There's probably stuff I don't even remember training that I'll use. Cool!
Ultimately I'll get to blog not only the differences in Horde v. Alliance (let's start with Horde cat form looks like ass), but also caster forms v. feral.
